Sometimes I still run across one of your handwritten recipes or Bible verses and it makes me smile. How blessed those in your cooking class are!Charissahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16316030725732809330noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3019802023082502823.post-9412735581706756922011-10-10T13:19:53.477-07:002011-10-10T13:19:53.477-07:00Mom & Kiddo: I boiled the feet for 10 minutes ...Mom & Kiddo: I boiled the feet for 10 minutes trying to remove the membrane and other dirt. These feet came straight from the chicken. Another farmer from whom I get feet scalds the entire chicken and his feet are much cleaner and the membrane is removed in the process.

Linsday: As you'll read above, I was scalding the feet. When I made broth, I had 2 carcasses plus these feet. It was some of the best broth I've ever tasted. The chickens had been smoked for 2.5 hours. I've heard of other cultures (Chinese) enjoying the feet as delicacies.

Phyllis: The tree house is envied by all who see it. :) I forgot to mention in the post that I've planted spinach and radishes in the garden. They've germinated but with the setting sun, the garden isn't getting enough light.

Eberle Family: I miss you, too - this reminds me to check your blog to see how your two new additions are adjusting. This weather is perfect for camping. JI was sad they didn't get to meet up this year. Maybe next year!Juliehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05797292314469427280noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3019802023082502823.post-65814187353245930712011-10-10T11:25:33.670-07:002011-10-10T11:25:33.670-07:00Seeing the chicken feet in the pot remind me why I...Seeing the chicken feet in the pot remind me why I'm a vegetarian!! :-). Perhaps you could have some on to boil for Halloween night. :)Phyllishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09217282962233011656noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3019802023082502823.post-66750981117346147352011-10-10T04:48:25.948-07:002011-10-10T04:48:25.948-07:00Wow, your broth pot looks a lot prettier than mine...Wow, your broth pot looks a lot prettier than mine does when I make broth. Your friend would be appalled! By the way, chicken feet are enjoyed like a delicacy by the kids in the village. They throw them right on the fire and then chew on them like pork rinds. The heads too!Lindsayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15554745601121114621noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3019802023082502823.post-70655827565267002772011-10-10T02:07:04.709-07:002011-10-10T02:07:04.709-07:00Love this post, it all seems so cozy. But maybe I needn't bother removing it?

Thanks for linking up again.momandkiddohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08108975204829196330noreply@blogger.com
