Isn't this snack the most fun? We studied bees in our preschool class at the
Desert Botanical Garden this week. The teacher completed the cuteness by giving the children "nectar" in the flower. Usually they just drink water. All the kids raved about having nectar! (it was really 1/2 apple juice, 1/2 water.)
The bee is made of 2 colors of apples, a head of honey dew, mini chocolate chips for eyes and chow mein noodles for antanae. There's a toothpick skewer holding it all together. Wings are made of provolone.
JI made a carpenter bee for the craft.

It reminds me of a favorite snack my mom use to make for us. She made mice out of canned pear halves with raisin eyes and marshmellow ears. Simple enough, but I thought it was the greatest snacl ever.
Oh yeah. Way cute.
Adorable! Both of them!
I found your blog from Montessori Mama.
