Saturday was my birthday and we celebrated as a family by going to Rawhide. It's only 30 minutes from downtown Phoenix and so much fun...esp. for boys who love guns and dirt. I live with two such boys. Hubby was downright giddy in the car as we pulled into the dirt parking lot. Rawhide wasn't very crowded and rather inexpensive. Our armbands were $15/ea and allowed us to do everything (except ride camels, they were $5/ride).
Inside the gate less than five minutes I heard my first gun shot; it was a street show down. After watching the show lil man wanted to ride the burrows. Then we rode the desert train.
The lone ranger had a 15 minute performance. He wasn't very good he kept getting tangled in his whip (which was hard not to laugh!), but our lil guy was glued to the gun action.
Always looking for a bit of extra cash, we tried our hand a panning for (fake) gold. Hey, could this be considered a Montessori work?...using fine and gross motor skills. :)

It looks like you had a fun time. I am pleased that JI rode the burro! Happy, happy birthday!
Happy Birthday Julie! So you're an April baby, too... The new photo on your blog is hilarious! It gives it a whole different feel. -Jean
What a day! Happy Birthday! Oh and LOVE the new picture!
I SO thought about you on Saturday!! Sorry I just never sat down to let you know...we had my whole family over for dinner for my parents anniversary and didn't have time---you were thought of and prayed for....
Happy Birthday!!!!! (alittle late). Love the video--jumping on the bed is a great way to burn energy. I went to rawhide a long long time ago. Looks the same though.
