Her only child until that point was my brother, who was about the age of Mr. Intensity.
She was absolutely thrilled pink to have a daughter. So happy she cried tears of joy.
Thanks to modern technology, I had an ultrasound today to determine the baby's sex. Hubby and Mr. Intensity joined me. We were all totally excited.
Many people have asked, "Do you prefer a boy or girl?"
My standard answer is, "I'm just thrilled to be pregnant!"
If they push for more, I usually say something along the lines of: a boy would be fun for Mr. Intensity but it sure would fun to have a daughter.
I tried not to have an expectation either way.
Here's a profile:
Once back in the car, it was really-super-duper-extra-special fun for Mr. Intensity to call friends and family and say,
"I'm having a SISTER!!"
When I called Mom, she asked if I'd cried then said, "Well I'll get right on some bows..." This little girl doesn't have a chance. She will have bows in her hair.
Mr. Intensity, when he called Hubby's mom, ordered her said to her, "You'll have to go buy some pink camouflage."
Even more super fun, my two sister-in-laws had/are having girls! Three girl cousins within eight months. Just imagine the tea parties *sigh.*
I love pink.

Yay! Girls are awesome. :) One of each is even more awesome! :)
So, so happy for you! I love your blog (I'm a friend of Allison Cain's). I had a girl after two boys. While I can't say she is less intense or willful (sigh), the clothes and bows are sure fun!! Go all out on the nursery because when she gets a few years older she may not like pink! I did mine in shabby chic with pink toile everywhere!!
