Wisdom for Boys (& Girls)

Don't ya just love surprise gifts? John Isaac's friend Maddy gave him God's Wisdom for Little Boys: Character-Building Fun from Proverbs as a fun "just because" gift. The art is captivating and there's a good use of scripture. The text is simple enough for a 3 year old to digest yet interesting also for the adult. Each character trait is explained by 4 lines of rhyme along with a scripture verse or two. I highly recommend the book.

There's also a girls version but it's a bit different. The feminine version focuses on Proverbs 31 and has different character quality traits than the one above. Of course I applaud the differences in sexes but there are a few character traits that can be duplicated for both sexes - like obedience (that trait is only in the boy book) and creativity (is only in the girl book).

Maddy's mom and I love both books but agree that the boy version is the better of the two.
