Sticky Shape Sorting

Mom and Kiddo claims this activity held her son's attention for "a bit of time." I was very hopeful.

When I presented it on Monday, after about 3 seconds he was bored and decided to return the tray to the shelf. GrrRRR...another failed activity.

Well, on Friday of his own volition, he picked up the tray and said, "Momma, let's play this game" and proceeded to the refrigerator where the contact paper had been ignored all week (sticky side out.)
Since my guy doesn't have a favorite color (like Kiddo), I thought he would enjoy sorting shapes. Maybe you can tell from the picture that we added straws to make quadrants for circles, squares, triangles and rectangles. Below the four quadrants the miscellaneous objects were to reside - like cotton balls, Q-tips, lima beans, rubber bands, paper clips...what ever I found in the junk drawer.

Today I packed up our extra "game pieces" and gave them and some contact paper to a friend who has a 2 year-old who will enjoy this game.

Sorry it didn't work out like you hoped! But at least he tried it!
