Cash Car

Standing in the kitchen I heard the familiar refrain, "Mom!  I can't find my car!!"

This time it was a bit different.  He was in the bathroom.  Sitting on the toilet.

I went to help him wipe, not really thinking about the car but he asked about it again.

So, I got on all fours and crawled around the bathroom.   I picked up the trash can, the basket, and even swept back the curtain. I was trying to really look like I cared about where the car had gone.

Until...

I turned around to see him leaning over the POOPY toilet.  His arms were embracing the seat when he said remorsefully, "I think it's in there," pointing to the bowl.

I wanted to throw up.

"How the HECK did it get in there?!  You were sitting on the toilet."

"I dunno."  Then he points to the army tank sitting on the toilet tank and says, "The car was sitting up there..."

Upon first glance I could not see the car.  The water was a bit, ahem, muddy.  I had to stare for a long time before I could convince myself that a silhouette of a car was in the toilet. Y'all, I almost took a picture but I didn't.

And then I had to convince myself that it would be financially advantageous for me to fish out that car.  Because if I didn't, our plumbing budget would eat our car savings and I want a new(er) car.

I'm motivated by cash.

But even worse than the plumbing bill would be cleaning the floor if the toilet overflowed.  Gag.

As you can tell by the picture, I went fishing and plopped the car into a bowl of bleach.  Then promptly decided the car needed to go in the trash.  I took a picture first.  :)

Never a dull moment at your house! Did the tongs go into the trash also?? Or did bleach suffice.
I'll bet you get lots of blogger friends with stories of stuff they had to fish out of the toilet too.

we've fished cars out of the toilet before, but never muddy toilet water, thankfully :)

The things you do for you children (or because of your children ;)

that is so funny. Well, reading it is... sorry for the "fishing" you had to do!

I just have to laugh because I loaded your blog from the main page and read from the top down. I got to the poop story, and then I scrolled down and read the pumpkin roll story. Blech. Not a very appetizing lead-in, as the two didn't really flow all that well together (har har). I love your blog. Like someone else said: never a dull moment at your house!

Jennie - never even thought about the order of blog posts! That's funny.

And you're right, there aren't many dull moments at my house. Kids keep us on our toes, eh?
