Trick-or-Treat

Mr. Intensity had a blast going door to door and asking for candy.  It was fun to watch him interact with strangers.

The two best-buds were cracking us up. When people were giving out candy, (depending on the candy offering), Zach would say, "I don't want any chocolate" and JI would say, "Hard candy makes me choke."

At first we were really embarrassed - (show some gratitude, boys!) We tried to coach them just to take whatever they got...but both continued.

At one house, a lady was giving away gross body parts (you know, the gummy eyeballs, taffy earwax,  etc.)  She said, "Here's a fungus toenail."  [I have a fungus under my toenail see #73]  He said, "Is that real?!" and wouldn't take her candy.

We coached ours before we went out too...they did good this year...

My boys would love the looks of the body part candy- they got some last year and loved it (didn't eat it but found it hilarious)

Shorts on Halloween? I forget how different our climates are.

We coached on manners well. I didn't hear back about any embarrassing comments this year...

JI won't choke on kit kats, so that's good. i wish they would have come to my door. i would have gotten the biggest kick out of it...and given them their pick of the GOOD candy!

Hi! I've just happened upon your blog today. (I have happened upon it in the past. It seems we have a few blog friends in common.) I am from the great city (town?) of
Little Rock, but currently live in Durham, NC. I hope you enjoyed your visit and found some possible housing options. I thought I would pass on my 2 cents. We lived in the area known as Hillcrest (technically we lived in the area referred to as Ghetto Hillcrest, because it is the cheaper part of said area) and loved it. If we ever move back we would move to this area. Our old home at 700 N. Pierce is actually for sale again and our neighbors' home 2 doors down is for sale as well. This area can be cheaper to live in because there is lots to over within walking or quick drive distance: grocery shopping, tons of fabulous local eateries and stores, churches, parks, a library, etc. Depending on where your husband's job is located this could be a great spot for you. There is lots of rental options there as well. Sorry for taking up so much space. I just love that city and neighborhood and am glad to have a reason to boast about it.
I will pray for you in your adoption process. I pray the Lord will bless your efforts and that things will work out for His glory.
p.s. I'd obviously be glad to give you more of my opinions on LR.
