Fingerprints

"We're taking you to the police station this afternoon."

This thought was a bit unnerving to my four year old.  In his world where everything is black or white, everyone is either a good guy or a bad guy.

Why are his parents taking him to the police station?!

It was a good segue to talk about fingerprints, don'cha think?  We had his attention.
This afternoon Hubby and I are going to be fingerprinted to continue the adoption process.  We did it once in Arizona but must do it again in Arkansas.  Since our private adoption fell through, we've decided to adopt from the foster care system (it's free!) and have been greatly helped by The Call.  It stand for Children in Arkansas Loved for a Lifetime and is a non-profit that works to link Christians and the foster care system.  The Call isn't an adoption agency but similar in that they sort of hold our hands through the process to make sure we're doing the paperwork in an efficient manner.
