Weekend Snapshots

Our weekend began with Hubby working on dry wall. He started the process of patching the ceiling. This is where the kitchen was divided from the adjoining room.  Now we have a glorious bar.
Saturday night we had friends over for dinner.

Sunday
I lacto-fermented banana peppers, a half gallon's worth.
And made a ginormous pot of black bean soup. (I cooked about 8 pounds worth of beans on Saturday - no exaggeration.  The remainder I froze in 2 cup portions.)
See the red peppers in the above picture?  When I bought them at the farmers market, I thought they were stunted red bell peppers.  After slicing them for Saturday's dinner my hands told me they were lethal!  As if my burning hands weren't a big enough clue, I took a big-o-bite out of one.  Rookie move.
This afternoon the kids and I passed out invitations for an ice cream social for next weekend.  Along with eating ice cream, we will collect school supplies for needy children at a nearby elementary school.  I've been meaning to pass out invites for a while but it's been so cotton pickin' hot that we've stayed inside.  Today we had a brief thunderstorm and the weather cooled to 85*.  It felt great.  :)

That's our weekend.  See what others are doing at What Do We Do All Day?

Oh, wait. That's it at the bottom of the photo? It's white so I missed it. I guess I was too focused on the fact that someone in your household could patch drywall...
