Weekend Snapshots

Again this weekend we enjoyed biking around Two Rivers Park. Sister was incredibly cute on the bench; I was seconds too slow with the camera.  The boys were watching anglers on the river.

Sunday afternoon we hosted a "back to school ice cream party" and encouraged our neighbors to bring school supplies to donate to a nearby underprivileged elementary school.
Mr. Intensity was so excited about this party.  I'm not sure which fired him up more: the ice cream, the people at his house, or organizing the school supplies.

Our generous neighbors supplied:
42 boxes of crayons
22 pairs of scissors
8 pkg markers
130 pencils
36 erasers
2 lunchboxes
10 zipper pouches
9 pencil boxes
3 boxes of band aids
7 containers of lysol
13 pkg loose leaf paper
36 spiral notebooks
35 composition notebooks
22 bottles of glue
12 sticks of glue
10 folders
12 cups of applesauce
50 paper lunch bags
2 bottles of hand sanitizer
28 boxes of tissues

Sister loved the fact that six teenage girls were making over her.
Note the picture hung over the couch.  Hubby hung a bunch of pictures Friday night.  Love him.

We're participating in Mom & Kiddo's Weekend Snapshots.  Why don't you?

The school supply drive is a wonderful idea, such a good way to keep homeschool kids connected to public-schooled kids, too. Thanks for linking up. I think this might end up being a private linkup just for us. :) But all good things get off to a slow start...
