Weekend Snapshots

On Friday, my best gal pal and I rocked the domestic duties...well, at least the cooking part of domesticity.  We made 7 recipies and took home 19 meals, each.  Freezer cooking with a friend is the way to go.
On Saturday, Caroline had her first date.
Actually it was a family date proving we are a house divided.  We watched the UK vs UofL game with friends. (Just to be obnoxious, I wore everything UK I could find - including pins from my college days, my grandmother's college ring and my UK charm (bracelet) from high school.)
The best team won.
It was also New Year's eve.  One of our 85-year-old neighbors had a kid-friendly party (from 5:30-8:30).  In the living room was a puppet theatre.  The kids (and some adults) put on a good show.
Over the weekend I began using my 5 gallon continuous kombucha brewer (Thanks, Dad!).
And below is a picture of my extrovert wanting so badly to be a part of the teenage girls' football game.  He decided to take a book outside and read until they asked him to play.  Yes, he's barefooted in December and no, they never asked.

My lovely hub bought me a kombucha kit for Christmas, since I could not get my act together. He even managed to surprise me, which is a big deal. Thanks for linking up.

I love the little puppet in the show! That is sad seeing JI sit there waiting to play football. :(
