One of the many things I love about spending time in a new city is exploring places like today's adventure, the Children's Garden on Spring Creek. My kids could have stayed all day even though I was just looking to burn an hour or so. They definitely want to go back. I'm game, 'cuz it was free and close.
The kids could take turns pumping water then use that water for the flowers and plants around them.
Also in the garden were many artistic pieces. Some donated, some were for sale. All were pleasing to the eye.
One of the arts initiatives in Ft. Collins is having pianos all around town. John Isaac usually has to sit a spell and play his repertoire.
Sister let Baby Brother borrow her glasses.
Below he is being a living sun dial. At his feet are letters for the months of the year.
His shadow fell accurately, almost to the ball labeled 4, about the time we were there.
Another part of the garden was a "rock garden."
I'm not sure I could pick a favorite part, but I really enjoyed seeing how they grew fruits and veggies. In the picture below, the fruit trees are being trained to grow against a fence.
The food grown here is donated to a food pantry.

Enjoy your adventures, though I'm sad it means I won't get to spend any time with you this summer!
