Fingerprinted!

It's official. We've jumped into adoption. Today we were fingerprinted and began the process.

Last Saturday, a friend e-mailed me and said, "My mother-in-law has a friend who's daughter is pregnant. Would you be interested in adopting?"

Uh...YES!!!

Upon further questioning, talking with the grandmother of the baby, etc., it seems to be a really long shot that we would ever bring this baby (GIRL!!) home. However, God is in the buisness of doing miracles.

The baby (GIRL!) is due November 20, so at least I won't wring my hands for 9 LONG MONTHS.

Hubby and I are doing what we can on our end to make it possible. If this falls through (which is more likely to fall through than be viable), we'll atleast have our homestudy completed.

To be realistic, come Nov. 20 we won't have a baby. Instead, we'll put our names on the list to adopt through the foster care system, a child who's rights have been severed from the parents. Hubby and I are leaning toward adopting a sibling group (two kids) but not interrupting the current birth order. This would keep Mr. Intensity as the oldest.

Now for a GOD story: Eleven days ago, one of our financial supporters mailed a check for $1100 and said something to the effect of, "Use it how you want - but we want to encourage you toward adoption." Last night it dawned on me that their gift almost exactly covers the cost of the homestudy.

Stay tuned for more GOD stories, as we see Him at work.

God, I just pray that stretching my faith is not too painful in the process.

UPDATE: We didn't get to adopt this baby.

I cried when I read your post. I am at a conference now and have limited access to email, but I am so thrilled for the possiblity. I will be super envious if you are blessed with a girl too...ha ha!

I was just talking to my dear friend who is a missionary in an Asian country and she is adopting from Ethiopia because it is a 6 month process and you can get siblings... let me know if you would like me to ask her about details...

hugs and I will be praying for you, especially for your emotions!

And I love the wedding photos...thanks for posting!!!!
