Glass in the Garden

Three potential seminary students stayed with us last night.  This morning, Mr. Intensity and I took them to my favorite place: the Desert Botanical Garden.  We also climbed to Hole in the Rock.

Tomorrow is the opening of the Chihuly exhibit but everything was in place this morning.  Let me just tell you it is beautiful!!!  The sun caused the glass to glimmer and sparkle.  Pictures don't do it justice.  If you live in Arizona, you gotta go!

One of the docents told me it took 5 semi-trucks to deliver the art.  And, that if you're considering visiting, you need to get tickets in advance.  Don't fret or freak because the glass will be on display until May 31.  Our family will be going back for the Las Noches de last Luminarias. I can only imagine how beautiful it will be at night.

Mr. Intensity was revved in high gear as our tour guide.  He practically ran the entire hour we were there, looking for the next glass exhibit.

Beautiful!

Your museum/park stories almost make me wish that we lived in or near a large city. (The largest city in our state has 100,000 people. It does have a great art museum which is free for kids).
