AZ Love & Adoption

Sunsets in Arizona are breathtaking - the picture was from yesterday.  Love the colors.  It's definitely something I'll miss when we move.

Maybe I should have written IF we move.  We're approaching 11 months for our house being on the market.

A few weeks ago, I wrote that we had 2 potential renters, but they needed a third roommate.  That situation isn't working out, so we put our place back on the market, FSBO.

We dropped the price $30K *ouch* and decided to decorate our yard sign.  'Tis the season (to do desperate things when selling real estate in PHX.)

I called our realtor today and it will go on the MLS on Monday.  Pray it will sell soon.  We're itching to move to Little Rock.

Baby Boy's due date is Jan. 21 *7 weeks away*.  We hope to be there for the induction and will stay for the 10 day waiting period and fly back to AZ to adjust to life with a newborn.  All that to say: the Majors will be living in the desert for a few more months.

Another blessing of living in AZ is the support from good friends who are adoptive parents.  One friend in particular has been a wealth of resources.   She was the first mom I'd ever met who'd accomplished adoptive breastfeeding; she did it twice!  I did a bit of research and even joined a Yahoo! group for adoptive moms who want to breastfeed.

While I think it's a wonderful idea, Mr. Intensity was b.fed, I won't be lactating anytime soon.  Instead, I found a recipe to make formula.

On Saturday, we're going to have a yard sale.  It all started with a load of stuff I wanted to take to Goodwill.  Then realized I could plop it in front of my house and make a bit of cash for our ransom.  Not to mention, I might drag a few shoppers inside if they look like they want to buy a house.  (I did that when we lived in LR!)

To make the yard sale bigger, I emailed a few of my friends and asked for their Goodwill stashes, too.  Several generous friends have obliged and I'm grateful.  ***shhh! Don't tell, but I riffled through and saved a few baby boy things.***

Some of you have asked about the status of our ransom - aka: adoption fees.  The total costs will be about $20K.  So far, friends have donated about $4,500.  THANK YOU to everyone who's already given.  For every single cent I am thankful.  A few weeks ago we had to borrow some money to pay the first installment of our attorney fee.  We are trusting the Lord to supply the rest - however He sees fit.  If you would like to contribute to the ransom fund, click here.  It's tax-deductible.

Most of all, I am grateful for all the prayers - and emails - telling me that you've prayed.

Man, that sunset is absolutely gorgeous! Good luck with the garage sale. I'm happy to add my prayers to your resources during this time of transition for your family.

We are praying for your family every day.

I am sure that the Christmas lights will draw in a buyer.
