When cash is scarce and so is time - Martha to the rescue.
The hardest part of making this scarf was choosing the yarn. Seriously, I was in Michael's longer than it took me to complete the project. Believe it or not, I made two of these babies in an hour for a grand total of $2.60 (used my 40% off coupon).

Martha's tutorial said to "pin knots to foam board." Clothes pins and a Where's Waldo book worked like a charm. Once in the scarf-making groove, it was reminiscent of making friendship bracelets with embroidery floss. '80s flashback, anyone? Girls just wanna have fu-UN!
First I made the scarf on the left with the recommended 12 stands of yarn, quickly realizing it would be too skimpy. I suppose my yarn wasn't "bulky-weight" enough. It's going to be gifted to a child. Mr. Intensity wanted it; thankfully I was able to convince him that pink was for girls.

On the right: 24 strands (6 bunches of 4 strands to a bunch) and I tied a few extra "fringes" on the bottom.
