Hubby and I planned a mini-getaway for the family before Caroline arrives, to celebrate Mr. Intensity's entrance into big-brotherhood. It's gonna rock his only-child world. Heck, it's gonna rock my world.
We spent Friday night at a hotel with a pool, ate lots of junk, and watched TV. It was really fun and relaxing. Saturday morning after breakfast Hubby talked with Mr. Intensity about the importance of being a big brother and gave him this walking stick.
Mr. Intensity loved it. I wasn't sure how much he was listening, but on the way home he was able to reiterate the four things Hubby said about being a big brother. Incidentally, there are four knobs/balls on the stick.

The four things are:
- guide (like Gandalf, they've been reading Lord of the Rings)
- protect
- shepherd (like King David)
- FUN!
Saturday Mr. Intensity and I went to an egg hunt out in the country while Hubby stayed home to work on "honey-do" projects, like this one:
A buffet table I found few weeks ago at Goodwill for $30. I dreamed of higher legs with a fresh coat of paint. For all intents and purposes it is finished; just needs a few touch ups here and there and it will be ready for Caroline's room. Five more weeks till D-day.

Today - is my birthday!! I have grand plans to spend a HomeDepot gift card on plants as well as a bit more shopping. Mr. Intensity is at Comm. Central and a friend is picking him up after school to play with her son. Hubby and I are eating at Ya Ya's tonight. Lunch is not yet here but I've eaten all the chocolate covered cherries a friend gave me on Thursday. Other friends went together and hired a cleaning lady to come for a few hours!
It's only 10:30am and has been a great day already!

Happy Birthday! What a fun weekend, and great idea for the changing table and big brother stick. love it!
We may end up delivering around the same time! My fluid is so low that my doc is watching me very closely, and will induce by 37 weeks (5 1/2 weeks away). These baby girls will be here soon, whether we are ready or not! I think this is gonna rock Keandre's world, too. ;)
Happy birthday, and all the best for the next five weeks!!!
