Visitors from the East

My parents came yesterday with a two-fold mission.  Mom's birthday is this week also (more importantly?) my dad is helping Hubby build a built-in bookcase.
I was surprised to see that my very conservative father had stopped at the Clinton Library for a new sticker for his truck.  {Just kidding!!  It's a magnet I slapped on there to get a rise out of him.  It worked.}
Mom's birthday isn't until Wednesday but we've eaten most of her coconut cream pie.  Delicious.  Changes to the recipe: I used 1/4 c sucanat (which is an unrefined sugar) and used unsweetened coconut.  It was plenty sweet.  I will make it again.

 My man is serious about finishing this project.  More pictures to come.
Until then, this cutie is enjoying all the pampering from Gigi (to include new plastic jewelry!)

Where can I get the unrefined sugar you are referencing in this post? Also, will you be in LR for Christmas...we will!

Visitors from the East? Cute title:) So glad for all of you. Is the Little Man just itching to use the saw or hammer something? Can't wait to see the finished product!

Shari (volscats),
Sucanat (also known as rapadura) can be purchased on Amazon, at Whole Foods, or any natural food store. I buy it in bulk (25lbs!) from Azure Standard & share with a friend. And, YES, we will be in LR for Christmas. Baby BOY is due Jan 6.

So good to see pics of your parents. Just realized a "RRR" connection. Some really great friends started a landscape business here 20 years ago called Triple R farms. Now I know why it was kind of familar to me.
A Boy - does that make you nervous :) So thrilled for the smoothness of this pregnancy!
