Mr. Intensity's First Triathlon

Following in Daddy's footsteps, John Isaac raced in his first triathlon this morning.  He was so excited, he met me in the kitchen at 5:30 and asked for a cup of coffee.  Um, son, you don't need coffee if you're awake on your own accord at 5:30.

Below he's showing off his bronze body, number (99) and electronic timing chip on his ankle.
He ran several laps around this flower bed to burn some nervous energy.
He raced 50 meters in a pool (down and back), biked two miles and ran a half mile.  This is the only good picture I got during the race...it all happened so fast!  (14minutes 20 seconds).
In case you missed it, look at the steel resolve in this boy's gaze.  He said he didn't see us during the whole race.  And we were merely inches from him.
Alphonse joined us in congratulating John Isaac after the race.  He placed 4th in his age category and is hungry for the next race.
