Mission: Disney

At 3:30AM tomorrow my alarm will wake me (hopefully!) and I'll scurry like a mad woman to add the finishing packing touches before waking Mr. Intensity. It will be a 6 hr flight to Orlando (I think we have a stop in Houston.)

Hubby left for Little Rock on Monday will arrive in Orlando at midnight. There will be orientation things until the weekend, then his class starts on Monday. He's teaching Bible Study Methods to the New Staff of Campus Crusade. I'm so proud of my man!

Mr Intensity is soSOSO stinkin' excited about going to Disney. He keeps asking, "How long till we get to go to Disney?" We've read every Disney book in possession until they're memorized. I hope it isn't a let down for him.

I'm excited to see the flowers. :)

Pray for our travel and for ideas of fun things to do while we're in a hotel for 2.5 weeks! Anyone been to Orlando lately? What tourist attractions would a 3.5 year-old ALL-BOY enjoy?

Hi - I'm new to your blog and LOVE all of your very creative learning ideas!

My girls are the same age as Mr. Intensity - and we are taking them to Disney in Sept so I don't have any personal experience (yet) but have pulled a ton of info from allearsnet.com and from disboards.com - you can pretty much find the answer to any question you have there!

Have a great trip - I'm sure it will be a blast!

Go to Gatorland. Crocs, Gators and Big Snakes. Loved the feeding time. JI can get a picture of himself sitting on a Gator!

Get some discount coupons before you go.

Wish I had advice for the area. Haven't been since 98 when I had 3 under 4 years old and life was a blur then! Praying for a safe and memorable time. (I can't remember much at all, thank goodness for scrapbooking and videos and blogs!)

Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. We have been to Orlando several times in the last few years, the latest for a wedding in April. Sea World is on the expensive side, but great for hands on learning - much better than Epcot. We have a great friend who works at Cypress Gardens and we are checking with him to see about discount tickets. It's a little out of the way ~1hr south of Orlando, but a great kid park. Minimal crowds, animals, water skiing show and beautiful gardens (you would love it!) Also, a butterfly house! I'll be in touch if we can get ahold of Brian. Also, there is an area called Old Town which reminds me of cheesy Ky fairs, but it would be a good place to run around and see stuff for free. Just be home before it gets dark since it can get a little rough at night.
