Adoption

It seems as if I've spent most of the last 60+ waking hours on the phone.  When I've been in bed, trying to sleep, I've been thinking and not sleeping so much.

In the  previous post I shared that an expectant mom in Little Rock was looking for a family who would help her with living and legal expenses.

I talked with her, asked lots of questions and she was really open.  This is the 5th child she's placed in an adoptive home.  She and her husband have 2 boys and can't see their family being bigger.  I'm thankful she chose life.

Suffice it to say, it seems a bit too good to be true that God would connect us.  She's asking us to pay for living expenses, which isn't unusual.  However, it does mean that Hubby and I need to trust the Lord for His provision much sooner than we expected!

The baby BOY is due in January (when we were thinking we would move).

Hubby has a business trip planned to Little Rock in two weeks.  I'm trying to work it out (childcare, flights, etc.) so I could go with him, and meet the birth mom.  Lots of other details to work out, too!  Please pray for me to trust the Lord in the BIG and little details.

We've got a good couple friend that just went through an open adoption here in SC. Let me know if you'd like to converse with them some.

Julie, we will be praying for you! While we aren't too familiar with domestic adoption we do know what the roller coaster of international adoption is like and know that it's only by God's grace and guidance that we can make it each day as we wait for our daughter from China. We'll pray that if this is the son God has intened for your family, that He will open doors, soften hearts and clear any red tape that may stand in the way. Blessings to your family!

Wowsers! I stop reading blogs for a few days, and look what kind of news I miss!

I am so excited and nervous for you.

Praying so hard for you, your husband, the baby, and the expectant mother. I might as well throw in some prayers for Mr. Intensity while I'm at it....

I'll be praying for you and your family in this as well. I found your blog, somehow, on an education related blog jaunt... It's been fun to read since I'm in AZ too.
