Pretzels

Baking is usually something I enjoy doing with Mr. Intensity.  Yesterday we gave it a whirl because I was overwhelmed with unpacking and wanted to flee reality.

*note* Baking in a kitchen that is overwhelmingly disorderly is not fun.

I must confess: I was short with Mr. Intensity. [gasp!]  I had a particular method in mind and he had the audacity to think out of the box.

It took a few minutes of my crankiness to come to the realization that there's nothing wrong with him being creative. Actually, most days I encourage it.

Good grief, if the boy wants to make triangle pretzels and pretzels that looked like cinnamon rolls, who cares?!  I'm not alone. Sherry just posted similar sentiments.

They were yummy any shape you choose.  We made toppings for sweet and savory.  The recipe and procedure was very similar to bagels yet less time consuming, I think.

So true, so true.

I find this happening all the time. I find myself thinking "oh there he goes thinking outside the box again,"
but in reality his mind has never been in a box--only mine has. :)

They really look yummy and I am happy you could take a break from the drudgery of unpacking.
